NYP’s New Diploma In Fund Management and Administration

In April 2009, Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) will be the first and only polytechnic to launch a new Diploma in Fund Management and Administration for full time students.

This new diploma offered by the School of Business Management will provide students with a comprehensive broad-based business education, focusing on Fund Management and Administration within the financial services industry. In particular, the course will cover Investment Analysis & Portfolio Management, Fund Administration and Accounting, Global Securities Operations and Alternative Investments & Hedge Funds.

Recently, NYP established a strategic partnership with London-based Securities & Investment Institute (SII) which allows our business and finance students, as well as students from the new Diploma in Fund Management and Administration to seamlessly attain the internationally recognised Investment Administration Qualification (IAQ™).

“SII is the largest and most widely respected professional body for those who work in the securities and investment industry in the UK. It is the leading and progressive examining, training and membership body for the industry. NYP’s collaboration with SII ensures that we produce not only industry ready but also internationally recognized graduates. Such talent will be sought after by Singapore’s financial industry,” said Mr Chiang Kah Kee, Director of NYP’s School of Business Management.

With an initial intake of 90, the course will expose students to the workings of the financial industry through internships with organizations like BNP Paribas, Citigroup, DBS Bank, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, OCBC Securities, Schroders, Standard Chartered Bank and UBS.

The diploma will prepare students for executive positions in fund and investment services that cover the front, middle and back office operations. Graduates can look forward to promising career prospects with the big local banks, international financial institutions, global fund houses, regional asset management firms, hedge funds, fund administrators and custodian companies.
